I have never ever set myself real goals before – they were always airy fairy things like I will lose weight, or ‘goals’ more about my family than me but there was never with any real thought or planning so it would happen. Not surprisingly, these ‘goals’ never came to fruition. Even with 12wbt when it came to the goal setting part, I skipped over it. I realise now it was because I didn’t think I could ever achive ‘real’ goals – so why set myself up for failure but more it was because I couldn’t see myself any other way and so didn’t have any idea what my goals were.

Over the last couple of days, because I can’t do the things I want, I have ben thinking about what I do want and so here is my list of goals for 2013 – it is a work in prgress and will grow and change as I do …

Goals for 2013

  • Focus less on the numbers and more about how I feel – but I will still weigh in once a fortnight and measure once a month
  • To take a photo of me each week
  • To finish with ‘weight loss’ and ‘diets’ and start living healthy
  • To live my life knowingly – not just coasting along letting it happen
  • To stop letting my weight and myself image rule my life and my decisions
  • To eat clean(er) with MUCH less processed food – but I will allow myself one small Freddo Frog a day until I no longer want it – if I know I can have it I am less likely to ‘cheat’
  • Find the real me (my authentic self) and just as importantly, let other people see her and not try to be what I think they want and expect
  • Be kind to me
  • Write, write, write
  • Be creative
  • Do something new at least once a month – challenge myself.
  • Plan my menus (and stick to them) each week
  • To blog more often
  • To have a ‘Jar of Awesome’ and remmeber to add notes often!
  • To keep my house looking like it is now – not allowing the clutter back, especially when my holidays are over
  • To spent more quality time with Lachlan, including walking, going to the gym, cooking etc to help encourage better life skills for him
  • Be proud of who I am and what I have achieved
  • Exercise 6 days a week
    • morning walks 4 – 5 times a week
    • Gym 5 – 6  days a week (3 with Lachlan)
    • Walk after dinner with Lachlan 3 times a week
    • Aqua at Springwood once a week (once a fortnight once I am back at work)
    • Aqua Zumba once a week
    • Start swimming laps (starting with being able to do one!) – 2 – 3 times a week
  • Treat myself to one thing that makes me feel good once a month – a beauty treatment, a new piece of clothing, time at a place I love etc
  • Put more balance in my life (and schedule it in until it becomes habit!)
    • Time for me
    • My kids
    • My friends
    • My writing
    • My exercise
    • Facebook
    • Learn to meditate
    • Take 20 minutes out of each day to just be
  • Spoil myself, make me a priority and do things that make me feel good
    • Only wear clothes that make me feel good – even if it means only having a few things for now
    • Wear my favourite perfume every day
    • Wear makeup everyday
    • Look after my skin
  • Only keep people in my life who support and encourage me and accept me as I am – no more negativity!
  • To find my purpose in life – I am thinking I would like to work with women who are in a similar position as me – to help them realise anything is  possible and to feel good about themselves
